Your Mission

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Lab Technician performs diversified duties within the Quality Lab to inspect, test, and evaluate parts to blueprint and customer requirements, calibrating equipment, performing First Article Inspections, and assisting engineering development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Plan, set up and operate test equipment and products in proper sequence, including wiring, fitting, aligning, and assembly to obtain proper operation on electrical components.

  • Interface with all departments to coordinate First Article Inspections to be performed to AS9102 and customer requirements

  • Use a variety of test equipment including network analyzer, hi-pot, megohmmeter, linear gages, heat treating equipment etc.

  • Perform critical laboratory work and testing of company products using standard laboratory procedures

  • Use ERP software (SAP) to execute transfer transactions required to move approved parts to stock 

  • Record test results as required, analyze results, and recommend possible product improvements

  • Perform calibration of mechanical and electrical gages and instrumentation as scheduled 

  • Perform non-standard inspections for conformance to customer criteria

  • Interface with all departments for non-standard testing of products

  • Participate and promote continuous quality improvements 

  • Coordinate with customers on Source Inspection and First Article approvals utilizing Customer Portals as required

  • Obtain Certifications related to Source Inspection and Internal Requirements

The Profile

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma

  • Prior experience with Radio Frequency and Interconnect products

  • Prior experience with Fiber Optic Cabling

  • Prior experience working on PCBs

  • Prior experience with AS9102 and Net-Inspect with the creation of FAIR’s on multiple types of product

Specific Job Skills, Specialized Knowledge or Certifications 

  • Analyze product based on given requirements 

  • Optimize inspections plans based on Purchase Orders and Blueprints

  • Able to work on small parts with zero defects

  • AS9100 experience 

  • IPC experience 

    • IPC 620

    • IPC 610

    • J Standard 

  • Understand and follow the steps to create First Article Inspection (FAIR) reports, based on AS9102 and Customer Requirements

  • Read and understand the differences between millimeters and inches
